Position Summary: The Device Quality Control Representative is responsible for performing first-piece inspections on device production and incoming inspection on raw materials to verify compliance with specifications.  Additionally, the Device Quality Control representative performs in-process audits throughout the shift and supports the NCMR process when nonconforming material is identified.

Essential Functions:

  • Quality Control and Inspection: Perform quality control tests and inspections on device production including first-piece Inspection. Perform incoming inspection on raw materials per specification and record/report results accordingly.
  • Audits: Perform in-progress audits throughout the shift to verify compliance with internal procedures and customer specifications.
  • NCMR Support: Provide NCMR support when an issue resulting in nonconforming materials is identified. Typical support would include proper identification, sort/segregation, and possible assistance with root cause investigation/action plan determination while working with Product Quality and/or Supplier Quality.
  • Shipment and Training: Process device Production Work Orders (WO) and other required paperwork necessary for shipment. Cross-training with QC Lab as determined necessary by QC Supervisor.

Other Duties

  • To assist with expediting the shipping process, the Device Quality Control Representative may also process Production WO paperwork and associated documentation that is necessary for shipment.
  • The Device Quality Control Representative may also be cross-trained on functions in the QC Lab.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Experience and Education Requirements

  • High School or equivalent degree.
  • Basic math and computer skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) Required

  • Basic equipment used to perform inspections such as calipers, jigs, and others.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, other computer programs, and technology.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk on normal and uneven surfaces and sit, use hands for writing and keyboarding, lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and rare lifting of 21-50 pounds, standing, stooping, or bending.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  • Clean manufacturing environment with exposure to lab and warehouse areas as needed.
